Here’s why global brands prefer Uniqode

Robust security, analytics, integrations, and smart redirects make Uniqode a preferred choice.

QR CODE CHIMP

QR Code Chimp falls short on platform security, and does not provide advanced QR Code support features or retargeting.

UNIQODE

Uniqode allows marketers to leverage social media QR Codes to the maximum—with retargeting on Google Ads and Facebook, SOC-2 security, and additional support features like multi-lingualQR Codes and open API.

QR Tiger

QR Tiger’s QR Code solution isn’t the most user-friendly. Their integration and collaboration capabilities are quite limited too.

UNIQODE

Uniqode is the easiest-to-use QR Code platform in the market. It is SOC-2 and GDPR compliant, provides SSO login, and offers a great deal of integration & collaboration options.

QR CODE GENERATOR

QR Code Generator’s platform falls behind when it comes to customer support. User reviews are riddled with complaints about poor service, billing issues, and overcharging.

UNIQODE

Uniqode offers excellent customer support on three different channels: email, phone, and live-chat. Users of the platform have given it a 4.5/5 rating on G2.

Leverage QR Code features that move the marketing needle.

Dynamic QR Codes
Use the same dynamic social media QR Code and update your social links on the fly. No reprinting required.
Retargeting

What is a Facebook QR Code

A Facebook QR Code is a scannable code that directs anyone who scans it to a specific destination on Facebook: your business Page, a Group, an Event, or a Messenger conversation. With a Facebook QR Code, you can give anyone instant access to your page, complete with a direct link, business details, and a one-tap like button.

Facebook does have a built-in QR Code. It's free and functional, and you'll find it in your Page settings under Edit Profile. But it produces zero scan data, and it’s not customizable. The destination is locked at creation. Once printed, it can't be updated.

A dynamic QR Code generator routes scans through a redirect server. The printed code pattern never changes, but the destination it points to can be updated from a dashboard at any time, with no reprinting required.

A free Facebook QR Code works well when you only need a static link. A dynamic Facebook QR Code is better when you want tracking, editing, and branded design.

What can you link to with a Facebook QR Code?

A Facebook QR Code can point to any public Facebook URL. The destination depends on the action you want people to take after scanning.

  • Facebook Page or business Page
  • Facebook personal or creator profile
  • Facebook Group
  • Facebook Event
  • Facebook Messenger
  • A specific Facebook post, announcement, or offer
  • Facebook review or recommendation page

How to create a QR Code for Facebook Page

Creating a QR Code for a Facebook page  takes four steps in Uniqode: paste your Facebook URL, customize the design, and download.

Step 1: Copy your Facebook URL

The URL you need depends on where you want the QR Code to go:

  • Facebook Page or business page: Open your Page and copy the URL from the browser bar. Typically: facebook.com/YourPageName.
  • Facebook Group: open the Group and copy the URL directly.
  • Facebook Event: open the Event and copy its URL.
  • Facebook Messenger: your m.me link is m.me/[YourUsername], paste this as the destination URL.

Step 2: Select the QR Code type and paste your Facebook URL

Log in to your Uniqode dashboard and select Facebook Page as the QR Code type. Paste your Facebook URL into the destination field. Enter your Facebook page username. Optionally, you can add a like button type, header, base image, and logo to brand the landing page. The live preview on the right updates as you make changes.

Step 3: Customize the design

Click the Customize tab. Upload your logo and set your brand colors. The live preview updates as you make changes. Add a frame with a call to action, such as "Scan to follow us on Facebook," so people know what to expect before they scan. If you want to move quickly, use Auto Design to generate branded color combinations automatically. QR Code tracking is on by default for every dynamic code, with no extra setup needed. Use Uniqode as your QR Code generator for Facebook Page campaigns when you need customization and scan tracking.

Step 4: Download and deploy

Check the scannability score; make sure it’s Excellent or Good. Download your Facebook QR Code as SVG or EPS for print, or PNG for for print materials like flyers, signage, and business cards.

Facebook QR Code: best practices to follow when creating one

Four things determine whether a Facebook QR Code gets scanned and keeps working: whether it's dynamic, whether you've accounted for the app install gap, whether the size and placement are right, and whether the file format matches the print context.

1. Use a dynamic QR Code, not a static one

A static QR Code encodes the destination URL directly into the printed pattern. Once printed, there is no way to change it. A dynamic QR Code stores the destination on a redirect server: the pattern encodes a short URL, and you update the actual destination from your dashboard at any time.

For Facebook QR Codes, this matters. Facebook's URL structure has changed before. When Facebook shut down Messenger Scan Codes in August 2019 with no warning, every physical material using those codes became useless overnight. A dynamic code means a URL change is a one-minute dashboard edit rather than a full reprint run.

2. Account for the app install gap

When someone scans a direct Facebook URL on a phone without the Facebook app installed, the URL opens in a degraded mobile browser experience or fails to load properly. This is more common in markets with lower smartphone storage capacity.

For most small business use cases, a direct Facebook URL still performs acceptably. But if you're printing at scale and scan rates seem lower than expected, the app install gap is worth investigating. Pointing the QR Code to an intermediate landing page that handles the redirect gracefully, rather than directing straight to facebook.com, solves the problem. The QR Code not working guide covers how to diagnose this.

3. Size, contrast, and frame CTA

Your QR Code should be at least 2 × 2 cm for materials scanned at arm's length. For posters or signage scanned from across a room, go larger: 5 × 5 cm minimum. The QR Code size guide provides exact dimensions for each use case.

High contrast between the code and the background is mandatory: dark code on light background, not reversed. Avoid placing the code on curved or textured surfaces where distortion affects readability. A frame CTA ("Scan to follow us on Facebook") is not decorative. It tells the person why to scan, which is the only reason they decide whether to do so. Test two versions pointing to the same destination and compare scan rates by placement.

4. Download in vector format for print

Print QR Codes in vector formats such as SVG or EPS for any print use. Such formats scale without pixelation. If your files go to a print shop for large-format output, they require vector files. PNG or JPEG works for digital assets.

Retarget your Facebook audience with QR Code scans

Facebook's native QR Code is just a link. It takes someone from a physical material to a Facebook URL with no advertising integration and no audience data built from the scan. Uniqode connects to the Meta Pixel, so every scan fires a Pixel event and logs it to your Facebook ad account, automatically adding that person to a Custom Audience you can retarget with ads.

The setup takes three steps:

  1. Connect your Meta Pixel to Uniqode in Integrations, a one-time setup that takes about two minutes.
  2. Create your Facebook QR Code as normal. The Pixel fires on every scan automatically.
  3. Build a retargeting campaign in Facebook Ads Manager targeting people who scanned in the past 30, 60, or 90 days.

Your product packaging, event poster, or in-store signage becomes a top-of-funnel audience for Facebook advertising, turning every scan into a retargeting opportunity.
