Where Bitly is the better choice

Bitly has expanded into QR Codes because many customers want QR Codes for their shortened links. Conversely, Uniqode supports branded short URLs because every dynamic QR Code needs a redirect URL. So, the deciding factor isn't "which product is better?". It’s "which object is central to your business?" If it's the short links, then Bitly is the stronger platform. If it's QR Codes, then Uniqode is. Bitly generally offers more mature link management capabilities, while Uniqode provides more comprehensive QR Code management, offline campaign analytics, and advanced features centered on QR Code deployments.

FAQ — Uniqode vs. Bitly

Can I move my existing Bitly QR Codes to Uniqode?

Yes. Export your destination URLs from Bitly, recreate the codes in Uniqode, and point your redirects to the new links. If your codes are on a custom domain you own, they migrate cleanly and keep working everywhere they are already printed. If they are on the default bit.ly domain, those codes will stop working when your Bitly account lapses, so plan new prints for those campaigns.

Will I lose my scan history when I switch?

No. Your scan history lives in Bitly until your account closes. Export it as a CSV before you leave and you will have a permanent copy. Uniqode starts tracking each code fresh from the day it goes live on the platform.

Do I have to reprint anything when switching to Uniqode?

Only if your codes use the default bit.ly domain. QR Codes on a custom domain you own can be redirected to Uniqode without touching anything already printed: packaging, signage, mailers, and event materials all keep working. A dedicated customer success manager walks you through the move at no extra cost.

How long does a migration to Uniqode take?

You can start creating QR Codes on Uniqode the same week. Existing codes migrate while your Bitly term winds down, so there is no gap in campaign coverage.
