How Shane uses Uniqode
A code per medium, so every marketing channel has to prove itself.
of all scanning from the strongest city's mailer
of codes still active
The challenge
A local pest control business grows by saturating a service area: door hangers, yard signs, vehicle wraps, direct mail. Each medium costs differently and reaches differently, and the owner's real question is which of them is worth repeating next season, and whether the next round of spend should go into one city or another. With no marketing team and a small budget, guessing wrong is expensive.
The solution
Every code is named for the physical thing it is printed on, which turns a small portfolio into a set of answerable questions about where marketing spend actually works. Two of the codes go further and carry both a geography and a specific offer: the same seasonal promotion run into two different cities, tracked separately as a head-to-head market test. Those codes route to city-specific service pages, so a scan from one city's mailer lands on that city's page rather than a generic homepage.
How Shane puts it to work
Named for the medium it lives on
Vehicle wraps, yard signs, door hangers, business cards and flyers each get their own code, so every channel reports separately instead of into one pool.
The same offer, run into two cities
One seasonal promotion, two codes, two markets: a direct head-to-head test of which service area responds, rather than a single blended mailer result.
Each city lands on its own page
Geographic codes route to city-specific service pages rather than a generic homepage, so the scan arrives somewhere relevant to where the mailer was delivered.
One destination domain, no leakage
Every code points at the company's own site. Nothing routes to a third-party platform, which keeps the whole funnel measurable in one place.

04 · The outcome
The market test produced a clear answer: one city's mailer pulled roughly twice the other, and the two mailers together account for the majority of all scanning. Every code created is still in service.
