How Kevin uses Uniqode
A music magazine that gives every offer, issue and event its own code.
for scan volume across all Uniqode customers
the codes of a typical media account
the scan efficiency of a typical media account
of all scanning goes to the busiest code
The challenge
A music magazine reaches readers through print, trade events and conferences, with subscriptions and merchandise to offer. Each offer needs its own destination, and the reader holding a page or standing in a hall should reach the right subscription form or product page in one step. A dedicated code per offer also shows which one worked.
The solution
The team uses a house naming convention and makes a code per offer or placement: subscription forms with a promotion attached to each, a merchandise store with product pages, digital issue archives, holiday offers, and links for industry events and conferences. A contact page and link pages handle the rest.
How Kevin puts it to work
A code for each subscription offer
Festival, holiday, member and gift offers each carry their own subscription form and code, so every promotion can be measured separately.
A store reachable from the page
Hats, T-shirts, a hoodie and a book each have a product page code, taking a reader from the magazine straight to a purchase.
Events and conferences
Industry events and conference materials get dedicated codes, so trade show contacts can go directly to the right offer.
Digital issues and a contact page
Digital issue archives and a contact page make reading and reaching the team one scan away.

04 · The outcome
Scanning is spread across the offers rather than concentrated on one: no code takes more than about a seventh of the total. Scan volume and portfolio breadth both sit in the top 15% of all Uniqode accounts, and new codes keep arriving with new editions and offers.
